After reading this wonderful book, I wish I had met him earlier. A complex story of a man who prizes manners, yet craves the rustic life, far from the wealthy drawing rooms of his patrons and friends. I'm going to pass my copy on to another birding friend, but I'm also going to print off pictures from the internet to go along with it. I met Ben after he retired as a Game Warden. All interesting from an historical, a philosophical, and human perspective.. Though the book is a serious account of the plight of an endangered bird, it lacks the preachy and often depressing tone found so often in accounts related to rare species conservation. This monograph beautifully features many of her restaurant and packaging designs and even includes a before and after section with logos she redesigned. Louise Fili is a legend and her work is truly amazing. Let me say first of all that the four-star rating is not a result of the writing! The book is well-written, the research is obviously excellent and the story of one man's life mission to save these little birds is as compelling as any you'll ever read. He longs for pure love, yet thinks little about turning over his three illegitimate infants in succession to a foundling home. She has a definite flair for turning a phrase. . Self promoting advertising for the author's services. Highly recommended.. This is an exceptional book collection for me personall

I suspect you will come to love the man and his unique voice; his journey belongs to us all." Thomas Dukes, Ph.D. Unsparingly honest, this memoir reads often like a mystery story, sometimes like a tender recreation of the past - always as a poignant, bittersweet narrative of a boy becoming a manand a man becoming his true self." -Joseph Dispenza, author of God On Your Own and The Way of the Traveler "What distinguishes Helmuth's story and gives
