However, I also feel like students at this level should be abandoning fill-in-the-blanks, short answers, and other, what I like to consider, "beginner workbook practices." That said, the layout and progression of difficulty work for me (I've only been studying Japanese for 7 months, so my retention rates are probably lower than someone who's been studying for three years with the same quantity of, but more spread out, exposure). He is art critic, photography critic, dance critic, literary critic as well as consummate gossip. Thanks so much, Jim, for sharing your journey, both 20 years ago and through this wonderful book. It's compelled him, in his adulthood, to seek a profession in journalism, and specifically a job with a magazine that delves into the superhero community. They don't bond with each other like a family would.The ending was cliffhangerish, but it wasn't a "literal" cliff-hanging event. The book is very well written, and I enjoyed the author's enthusiasm for her subject. I originally bought this as an e-book because it was so cheap (embarrassing admission!), and I thought I'd miss out if I didn't purchase it then and there. This is a very small book. The title certainly delivers its promise of "real world skills for the aspiring motion graphics artist."
