I have no doubt the packaging she creates outshines most of the products contained therein.I would add, in addition to the obvious visual merits of this book, Mrs. For one employed in the trade I can't imagine passing it over.I have several books by Steven Heller and Louise Fili and this husband / wife collaboration has produced some real treasures. It is more of a pictorial study of lovely furniture, room layouts, antique details, drapery and linens rather than a 'how to guide' to furnishing a home in this style - it is provides some inspirational ideas for decorating and thoughts on furnishings and color combinations - although some furnishings and abodes are a little out of reach for most of us (the essential paris apartment with french doors, parqued floors and mammoth marble busts) it is fabulous to look at it and is a nice coffee table addition. This informative biography follows the ascent of Emmanuel Levinas from solitary thinker to one who is universally influential, and includes perso

This is the best biography of Levinas available." --Choice"In Salomon Malka's masterful new biography of Levinas, the first in English for this most unique and challenging thinker, we are provided glimpses of the master through elegantly constructed fragments and miniatures detailing the facts of his life and the profound effect that he had on others. "This book offers a rich sense of Levinas as a person, and is valuable for elucidating the Jewish context and content of his thought. In the course of these enlightening portraits from those who best knew him we learn how to better read Levinas as the details that are unearthed serve to unfold the many hermetic passages in Levinas books." --Tikkun Magazine"English-language readers owe a debt of gratitude to Michael Kigel and Sonja M.
