These chapters are fascinating, explicitly detailed (with memos and letters included that Kopp wrote to CEOs for funding, etc), and paint a beautiful picture of the hard work that Kopp and others put in to TFA.The following few chapters focus on the younger years of TFA, and these chapters drag a little bit (and are a little repetitive). Gut wrenching in its honesty,thought provoking in the truest sense of the word. The idea of Teach For America was originally Kopp's senior thesis, but becamse a reality when she decided to pursue it upon graduation. In Rare Birds, Gehrman tells the story of David Wingate and the Bermuda Cahow (or Bermuda Petrel), a bird long thought to be extinct. She has a definite flair for turning a phrase. human male has the amazing ability to read and watch baseball on TV simultaneously -- but I could not stop reading Gehrman's book. If you want to learn a lot about networking and cut a lot of the fat, this book is for you.. I haven't seen the book about this before. Enjoy..
